My daughter Tanvi is in class 4 and her school had a science fair last month. I bought this workbook to help her prepare and she chose the Mini Tornado in a Bottle as her demonstration. She practiced it multiple times at home, learned all the science behind it from the book, and presented it confidently at school. She won second place! The teacher said her explanation of the science was the best part. I cannot take credit for that - the book explained everything so clearly that Tanvi genuinely understood it. We are now going through the rest of the experiments just for fun.

I ordered this for my 8 year old son and after he did the Homemade Lava Lamp experiment he came and explained to me that oil floats on water because it is less dense. He had learned the word density from the Why It Happens section and used it correctly in a sentence! I am not a science person myself so I was genuinely impressed. The book explains complex concepts in language that children can actually absorb and retain. He has since used the word density correctly in at least three other conversations. That kind of vocabulary building through hands-on experience is remarkable for a primary school child.

My son is in class 4 and his school recently had a unit test on air and water. He scored 18 out of 20 which is his best science score ever. I attribute a lot of that to this workbook. The Air Takes Space and Surface Tension experiments gave him a practical understanding of the concepts that no amount of reading from a textbook could have provided. When I asked him how he knew certain answers he said he remembered from when we did the experiment at home. That connection between doing and knowing is exactly what this book creates. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

As a parent I am always worried about activity books that look great but are either unsafe or too complicated for kids to do independently. This workbook strikes the perfect balance. Every experiment has a clear safety note, a simple materials list, and step by step instructions with illustrations. My 8 year old daughter was able to do most experiments by herself while I just supervised from a distance. The Static Balloon experiment had her and her friends entertained for a full afternoon. I especially love the observation and recording sections that make kids actually think about what they are seeing. Very well designed.

I have been a primary school teacher for 12 years and I have seen many educational products come and go. This science workbook is genuinely one of the best I have encountered at this price point. I used it with my class 3 students for a science enrichment week and the difference in engagement compared to regular textbook lessons was remarkable. The Simple Compass experiment generated the most questions I have ever received from students in a single lesson - every child wanted to understand how the compass worked and what magnetism means.
